TRAP LATINO is sweeping among today's youth. Trap history is not particularly new, but it is as fascinating as its creators, rhythm and emotions that this genre produces.

The Trap is a subgenre that initially belonged to the branch of hip hop in the southern United States over the years and joined the electronics to commercial hip hop and more recently to Reggaeton. There is a small but noticeable difference between each of these varieties of trap, especially electronics also called EDM trap (Electronic Dance Music).

This sub-genre differs from other genera by its rhythm, dense and dark electronic arrangements. It can be very slow and quick time. What matters is not musical notes, but the sound effects. Usually it incorporates rhythms under heavy synthesizer Roland TR-808 with layers of synthesizers and other cinematic strings.

The term "TRAP", which literally translates into Spanish as "Trap", comes from the American slang to describe places for buying and selling illegal drugs. This term has no etymological connection with the word "fiddle". However, our focus in this article is more about the trap as sub-genre of reggaeton and its influence on the current Latin music scene.

Until recently it remained an underground musical style which the general public did not know much and less in the general commercial market. The genre has faced much controversy, especially in Spanish trap for alleged obscenity. The first artists to enter this sub-genre by the reggaeton were Archangel, Messiah, Yaga & Mackie, Randy, De La Ghetto, Nicky Jam, Salguero, among other singers mainly reggaeton in Puerto Rico.

Other singers mainly reggaeton from Puerto Rico were attributed by the end of 2016 have begun with the movement of the Latin trap by songs like "The Big Kill" and "Feeling Block", although in 2007 (the year in which these songs were released ) there was no talk of that subgenre.

It is recognized that the trap has long been in existence and has exponents of high caliber in the US and Europe, particularly in Spain with Spanish trap. But there is no doubt that in Latin America, particularly in Puerto Rico, has been garnering a talented group of "rag pickers" who are reaching maturity.
